I just have not been able to sit myself down in front of a computer and write. After all, it was summer, a time to play, enjoy the sun, the beach, barbecues and Disneyland. For many months Ive taken on a project of observing people and their "PERCEPTIONS" not only the perceptions of others, but my own personal perceptions and how they affect my choices. You might say thats an odd thing to observe, but I developed a curiosity on how other people see the world, and how their perceptions differs from mine. Its an interesting thing to observe how easily each of us adjust and become comfortable with a perception. We become so accustomed to what we are told that we eventually will believe our own illusions and make them truth. Recently, I was watching an old re-run of Star Trek. In this show Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, and Chekov, were all held captive on a planet by alien-beings (big surprise). The planet was staged with an old west theme, highlighting the feud between the Hatfields and McCoys at the OK Corral. The crew of the Enterprise was doomed to die as each event played out according to history. After a scientific experiment for creating a sedative didnt achieve the results, they concluded that the laws of physics were somehow not being applied to that reality. The crew came to the conclusion that everything around them was a hologram, an illusion. That realization didnt seem to help when Chekov, in a confrontation was shot and presumed dead from the bullet of a gun. As the time grew closer for the Quattro to play out their fate, They all realized it was an illusion, but felt their inner perceptions were not strong enough to overcome their belief in the reality of bullets. Spock made the comment that, "we judge our reality by our senses". If you believe in something then it is. For the crew of the Enterprise to survive the shoot-out it was going to be essential for them to overcome their instinct to react to the guns and bullets. Spock realizing the situation offered to use the famous "mind meld" on the others to help them overcome the illusion. As the shoot-out began, each bullet passed through them as if it were butter. No one was hurt and the crew eventually found themselves safe and sound back aboard Enterprise. Life is not a television show, and unfortunately, we dont have access to Spocks famous mind-meld. Our perceptions, judgements and way of thinking are so often distorted that we come to believe we have no choices. We create an illusion of only two choices, usually to stay or leave. With the gift of increased awareness, you might not be able to stop bullets yet, but you can begin to see that you have options and choices, even if the only choice at the moment is to see that you are stuck. Accept the stuckness and amazingly you might see the situation begin to change. Often it is not the situation that has us stuck, but our attitude about the situation. Try allowing yourself to see through the eyes of others. Some of you that email the Kryon Questions and Answers section of the magazine often receive a personal message from me. I usually ask you take another look at your personal judgements and perceptions. For most of us its easy to get caught up in the drama and the emotions of a situation. If only for a minute you can step out of the emotion you might receive the clarity you seek, but that too can be a core fear. We sometimes avoid getting clear because we intuitively know that when we get clear we will have to make some changes in our lives. We are so accustomed to doing what is expected of us that it often becomes difficult to know what we want or need. We give in so easily to the demands of others, that we find ourselves confused and lacking clarity. The good news is that in spite of our confusion our inner self continues to push us forward toward our evolution and growth. Something in us struggles for clarity and truth, no matter what illusion we are confronted with. Ultimately it becomes like eating and breathing just another intimate part of being human. So, take a minute to move beyond the concept of reality, and transcend all thoughts into a direct line that connects with the mystery and wonder of YOU. With Love, Barbara |
